CULTURAL HERITAGE WITH SEA VIEW
After hard work in the field and the cultivation of poor land, good rest is really necessary for our farmers. In the shade of centuries-old olive trees and healthy sea air experience a part of their everyday life and enjoy delicious food!
DAY 1
Arrival to Postira in the afternoon on your own arrangement. Accommodation in a private apartment of your choice or at one of our hotels. After check-in, we suggest you to spend your free time for walk and explore the place or take a swim on one of many beaches along the coast.
DAY 2
After breakfast it's time to get to know Postira. Accompanied by a tour guide, the tour begins with the story of Vladimir Nazor, a famous Croatian poet. In his birth house, today is located a family souvenir shop of Fine soaps which are handmade and cut in a family run production facility. Each soap is unique and with a gentle touch of olive oil and the richness of Mediterranean herbs, all the essence of the Adriatic is transformed in it.
Our way leads us through the "kogule", a street made of sea boulders placed in different shapes. At the top of the street proudly stands the parish church of St. John, surrounded by a paved square and remains of an early Christian basilica.
Local taverns and family farms are an unavoidable stop on our tour. We will relax in pleasant surroundings with tasty marmalade, homemade cheese, olives, liqueurs and domestic wine.
Postira Agricultural Cooperative is widely known for its top-quality olive oil and its products carry the label of the Island Product. We will visit the production facility and get acquainted with original, traditional domestic products and the complete offer of olive oil products.
After the tour it is time for leisure and rest and you can spend the evening at one of the local restaurants.
DAY 3
In the afternoon we go to Cove Lovrečina, about 4 km from Postira, famous for its large sandy beach and precious archaeological sites. You can reach the bay by boat and car, and it is a pleasant walk along the sea. Due to its very soft shores, even small children and non-swimmers can enjoy carefree swimming. The dense vegetation in the background provides sufficient shade and above the beach you can see the remains of Basilica of St. Lovre from the 5th century. It used to be a monastery with a church and a large sacristy, baptistery and a vestibule, and fragments of frescoes and sarcophagus are left in the remains of the complex.
After sightseeing of the remains, you can take a swim and enjoy the warm sun.
Mirje is a place dating back to the late antique and is located on a beautiful hill with a breathtaking view of the Brač Channel. These ruins in the middle of green vineyards are the remains of Benedictine monastery along with religious and commercial buildings. In the evening, the special atmosphere creates a sunset while its rear trails overflow the sea and trickle through the cracks of the wall creating an immeasurable image.
Now it is time for real rest. Near Mirje lies a spacious olive grove owned by a local family. Every day they take care of their olives, which gives them back with high quality domestic oil. From other fruits of their farm, family also produces various liqueurs, marmalade and domestic wine. In a serene environment and good company you will feel the real life on the island and enjoy homemade drinks and delicious meal prepared on „gradele“.
In the night we take a leisurely walk back to the place.
DAY 4
Spend the last morning on Brač relaxing with a farewell coffee on Postira waterfront, enjoying the sunshine and beautiful sea view.
